American, Tuolumne, Salmon, and Rogue River Rafting

The Tuolumne, Salmon, and Rogue Rivers are the best rivers of the West. They have all been designated as "Wild and Scenic" by the United States Congress for their "Outstandingly Remarkable Values." Each of these rivers has a section that is traveled by most rafters because of it's unique properties.

The Rogue River

The Rogue River begins near Crater Lake and Flows through Southern Oregon to the Ocean. Just before it reaches the Pacific Ocean, it flows about 40 miles through a famous river canyon full of fun rapids, great camps, history, and tons of wildlife.

The Salmon River

The Salmon River country is legendary for the residents of Idaho for it's striking beauty and world class trout fishing. There are hundreds of miles of the Salmon that are commonly floated and the best is the Middle Fork which flows 100 miles through the heart of the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness.

The American River

The American River has three diverse forks that offer all sorts of whitewater opportunities. The South Fork of the American is great for first timers rafters and the North and Middle Forks have plenty of excitement for experience boaters. It's also close to Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Tuolumne River

If you like rapids, you'll like the Tuolumne River. The Tuolumne River cascades down the Sierra out of Yosemite through some of the most rugged and beautiful country in California. Most people enjoy the 18 mile stretch from Meral's Pool to Ward's Ferry Bridge on Don Pedro Reservoir.

The Merced River

The Merced is another Wild and Scenic River that flows out of Yosemite National Park. Most visitors to Yosemite enter Yosemite via Highway 140 along the river. Rafting is the best when the water is high typically in May in June.
